It’s that time of the year once again when Davao, the Durian Capital of the Philippines, celebrates its grandest annual event, the spectacular Kadayawan Festival.

Tagged as the “King of Festivals“, Kadayawan is an annual festivity wherein the ‘Lumads‘ or Davao’s ethnic tribes come together to celebrate the year’s bountiful harvest of flowers, fruits and other agricultural produce and to showcase the richness and diversity of the local culture, artistry and heritage through different tribal dances.
This year, Kadayawan Festival 2012 will officially start on August 3 revolving with the theme, Ten Tribes, One Vibe. The festival highlights on the other hand, will take place on August 17 – 19, 2012. Thousands of tourists, both locals and foreigners alike, are expected to flock to the said event.
